Transferring Calls

Avaya Cloud Office allows users to transfer phone calls between internal extensions.

 

To transfer a call using a desk phone

  • While on an active call, press the Transfer soft key at the bottom of the screen.
  • Enter the extension for the transfer and press Call.
  • Choose either the Now or Talk soft key, depending on the situation as described below.
    • Now: This will immediately transfer the call.
    • Talk: This will start a phone call with the user and allow you to converse with them before transferring the call. This option is useful to relay any contextual information about the call. Once you are ready to complete the transfer, press Complete.

To transfer a call using the Avaya Cloud Office desktop or mobile app

  • While on an active call, press More, then Transfer.

  • Enter the extension for the transfer.

  • Choose either Ask First, Transfer Now, or To Voicemail, depending on the situation as described below.

    • Ask First: This will start a phone call with the user and allow you to converse with them before transferring the call. This option is useful to relay any contextual information about the call. Once you are ready to complete the transfer, press the green button.

    • Transfer Now: This will immediately transfer the call.

    • To Voicemail: This will immediately transfer the call directly to the user's voicemail and not ring their phone.
