For the Teacher that is sharing the Explain Everything Project::

 

If you know in advance that you will be unavailable, you can put the Explain Everything files on a removable USB storage device and provide it with your lesson plans.

 

You can also share the needed Explain Everything project using the sharing method within Explain Everything.

 

To share an Explain Everything project, the file must be an Explain Everything cloud project in Explain Drive.  If you are using Explain Everything from a browser, it is automatically a cloud project in Explain Drive.  If you are using the macOS Explain Everything App, it will upload the project to the Explain Drive for you before you can share it.

 

Sharing from the macOS Explain Everything App

Select the project you want to share

Select the “Invite” button in the upper right corner

Select “Copy”  when you get the message telling you to copy the project to Explain Drive

 

 

When the file is uploaded to the Explain Drive, it is a copy of the original document and considered a new document.  Any changes made to the Explain Drive version will not be reflected on the original local version.

 

Once the file has been converted to a cloud project in Explain Drive, you will notice that your project now has a share code in the upper right corner of the window that looks like this
 

 

Click on the “Share Code” and you will be presented with the “Collaboration” menu.  Select “Add People”

 

 

In the “Invite” window, you can select what kind of permissions you want to give (edit, download, view), then in the “Invite others by email” section, enter the desired building substitute email address listed below:

 

Baker - [email protected]

 

Eisenhower - [email protected]

 

Streams - [email protected]

 

 

When you have entered the email address, click “Done” in the upper right corner of the window.

 

The project is now shared with the email addresses specified.

 

Sharing from Explain Everything in the Browser

 

Locate the Explain Everything project you want to share and select the three dots in the bottom right corner
 

 

Then select the “Invite” button

 

 

In the “Add people” section of the “Invite” screen, type the email address of the user you want to share the Explain Everything project with.

 

 

 

The project is now shared with the email addresses specified.

 

For the Substitute receiving the Explain Everything Project

 

Log into the building substitute laptop

 

Launch the Chrome browser and navigate to: explaineverything.com

 

You should see the substitute Explain Everything account.  If not, please see your building Tech Aide.

 

Naviage to “My Drive” then select “Shared with me” then open the appropriate project
