You will receive a Chromebook to assist with your learning and schoolwork. While some teachers are paper-only, a majority will require a Chromebook.
Getting started
There are multiple models of Chromebooks, depending on what grade you are in. Setting up each is a little different, so please go to the associated article based on your grade:
Grade | Device |
---|---|
9 | Lenovo 500e Yoga Gen 4 |
10 | Lenovo 500e Gen 3 |
11 | Lenovo 500e Gen 3 |
12 | Lenovo 500e Gen 2 |

Opening Chrome
One of the most important functions of a Chromebook is browsing the Internet through Google Chrome. Once you've logged in to your Chromebook, you can open Chrome through the task bar:
Charging
You will also receive a USB-C charger to accompany your Chromebook. You should set up a "charging station" in your home where you put your Chromebook when you are not using it. Try to make it a habit of plugging-in your Chromebook before you go to sleep each night, because you will have a bad time the following morning if you don't.
Stylus
While you can use your finger on the Chromebook's touch screen, each comes with a stylus for easier writing. Styluses are fragile and easy to lose, so please try to be careful with them and always return them to their garage (slot) in the Chromebook. Styluses can cost around $50 to replace! For more information, see the 2024-25 (or later) edition of Obtaining Replacement Accessories for District Chromebooks.
