All: Getting started with Kami

Starting in the 2023-2024 school year, Kami will replace Squid Notes as the PDF markup and note taking application.  It offers many of the same functions as Squid and some new Kami-only features and automatically saves all your Kami documents to your Google Drive.

 

Below are instructions on getting started with Kami by setting up your account.

 

After you set up Kami, you can access this knowledge base article for more information on how to use Kami.  You can also access Kami’s Help Center for any questions.

 

Accessing Kami

 

You can access Kami from any device with a web browser.  If you are on a laptop or Chromebook, we recommend using the Chrome browser when accessing Kami.  You can navigate to the website - kamiapp.com, the USCSD Staff Links or Student Links, or the pinned extension at the top of your Chrome browser.  The Kami extension is pinned at the top of the Chrome browser for all District-owned devices.

 

 

You may be asked to log in when you access Kami for the first time.

 

Select the “Continue with Google” button.

 

 

You are then prompted to choose your account.  Choose the one with your USCSD email address:

 

 

You are then asked to trust Kami.  Select “Allow” at the bottom.

 

 

To complete your signup, you may also be prompted to choose where you are using Kami and your role.  Please select what is appropriate, then select finish.

 

 

Once you have completed these steps, you are ready to use Kami.
