The Upper St. Clair School District phone system offers the ability to make phone calls using your cell phone. This feature allows you to make phone calls as if you were on-site at your desk.

This feature has to be set up per-user by the Technology Department. To have this feature provisioned for your phone extension, please submit a support ticket by clicking here. Once the feature has been provisioned, the directions below will work on your cell phone.

We recommend that you put contacts in your phone with the numbers listed in this article.

Place A Phone Call from your Cell Phone

Call 412-851-2834

Once the call is connected, you will hear a dial tone as if you had just picked up your desk phone. You may now dial either a 4-digit extension or an outside phone number. To make outside calls, you must dial 9 before the number. If you are dialing outside of the 412 area code, you will need to dial 9 + 1 + number, just like is usually done at your desk.

Calls placed to internal extensions will show your 4-digit extension as the person calling. Calls placed to outside numbers will show up as coming from the School District's phone system 412-833-1600.

Enabling Simultaneous Ring

Call 412-851-2831

The phone call will connect, but there will be dead air. The dead air is normal; please do not hang up. The phone system will automatically end the phone call after approximately five seconds.

Once the simultaneous ring has been enabled, any phone call to your 4-digit extension will simultaneously ring your cell phone as well. You may answer the call either from your desk phone or cell phone; you do not need to be in your office physically.

Disable Simultaneous Ring

Call 412-851-2832

The phone call will connect, but there will be dead air. The dead air is normal; please do not hang up. The phone system will automatically end the phone call after approximately five seconds.

Once simultaneous ring has been disabled, any phone call to your 4-digit extension will only ring at your desk and will no longer ring on your cell phone.

Transfer an Active Phone Call from your Desk Phone to your Cell Phone

While actively talking to the remote party on your desk phone, dial 412-851-2833 from your cell phone.

Once the call connects, you should hear the same conversation on both your cell phone and desk phone. Once you have verified this to be accurate, you may hang up your desk phone and continue the call on your cell phone.

Please note: When calls are forwarded to your cell phone, if you do not answer voicemails will continue to be left at the voicemail box attached to your 4-digit extension.
