These instructions illustrate how to use Promethean's Screen Share app on your Mac with a Promethean ActivPanel.  You will learn how to install the Screen Share app for Mac and connect to your ActivPanel.  Please note, almost all of the steps you will take in the instructions below only need to be done once.

 

 

On your Mac, open the Finder app and navigate to Self Service in your Applications folder.  Now double-click the Self Service app.

 

 

 

Navigate to the Productivity section and click on the Install button associated with the Promethean Screen Share app.  You will see the button's text change to Executing, then Reinstall once the process completes.

 

 

 

Open the Finder app once again and navigate to Screen Share in your Applications folder.  Now double-click the Screen Share app.

 

 

 

Upon opening the Screen Share app, your Mac will ask if it is okay for this app to use your Mac's microphone.  Click OK on the "Screen Share" would like to access the microphone prompt.

 

 

 

Click on the Enable touchback... checkbox.  The Accessibility Access prompt appears, where you should now click the Open System Preferences button.

 

 

 

The System Preferences app opens to the Security & Privacy menu's Accessibility section.  Click the locked padlock icon to proceed.

 

 

 

Enter the password you use to log into your computer in the Password field, then click the Unlock button.

 

 

 

You can now checkmark the box next to the Screen Share app.

 

 

 

On your ActivPanel, open the Screen Share app from the program menu.

 

 

 

The Screen Share app will display your ActivPanel's name and a series of numbers to use when connecting your Mac.

 

 

 

On your Mac, enter the series of numbers from your ActivPanel, your name, and check the box labeled Enable touchback so that ActivPanel can navigate your screen.  Now click the ENTER WAITING ROOM button.

 

 

 

You are presented with the Screen Recording prompt.  Once again, click the Open System Preferences button.

 

 

 

You can now checkmark the box next to the Screen Share app.

 

 

 

You must now click Quit & Reopen so these permissions take effect, allowing the Screen Share app to record your Mac's screen.

 

 

 

Once again, enter the series of numbers from your ActivPanel, your name, and check the box labeled Enable touchback so that ActivPanel can navigate your screen.  Now click the ENTER WAITING ROOM button.

 

 

 

On you Mac, the Screen Share app will show that you are in the waiting room.

 

 

 

On your ActivPanel, the Screen Share app will show that you are in the waiting room as well.  Tap the icon outlined in the image below to view the waiting room.

 

 

 

Check the box next your name in the waiting area, then click tap the Share button.

 

 

 

On your Mac, the Screen Share app shows that you are sharing your screen.

 

 

 

On your ActivPanel, the Screen Share app displays your Mac's screen.

 

 

 

Note: On the Elementary Panels with the ActivConnect OPS-G module, you may need to add the screen share app to your App Wheel.

 

To do this, press and hold inside of the App Wheel until the menu pops up.  Choose “Add bubble”.

 

 

 

Under Select Action, choose “Generic app.”

 

 

 

Search or scroll to find and choose “Screen Share.”

 

 

If prompted to Allow Screen Share to access photos, media, and files on your device, choose ALLOW.

 

Screen share will now appear in your App wheel.
