Converting Squid Notebooks to PDF

This knowledge base article will help you convert your Squid Notebooks into PDF format.

When you export a Squid Notebook, it creates a single ZIP file with individual PDFs of the Squid Notes inside.  Each Squid Notebook you export creates its own ZIP file.

From your Chromebook, launch the Squid Application

To view your Notebooks, select the Menu (3 Lines) in the upper left corner.

Press and hold on each Notebook you would like to convert then choose “Export”

Choose Save to device

You will be brought to your local “Downloads” folder, then choose “SAVE.”

Continue this process for all Notebooks that you would like to save.

The ZIP files are now in the Downloads folder on your local Chromebook hard drive.  For your Squid Notes to be backed up, you MUST copy them over to Google Drive.  If you do not copy the ZIP files over to Google Drive, they will not be accessible on another device.

Use the Files App to click and drag each Notebook ZIP file to Google Drive to copy it to Google Drive.

Please note that depending on the size of the ZIP file, it can take a few minutes for the ZIP file to copy to Google Drive. Dragging the ZIP file to Google Drive and closing your Chromebook immediately will prohibit the ZIP file from getting copied to Google Drive.  Please wait until the ZIP file is completely copied over before you close your Chromebook.

To view the contents of each file, use the Files App to navigate to your Downloads folder.  You will see individual ZIP files for each Notebook you exported..  When you double click the ZIP file,  it will expand to show your individual PDFs.  You can double click the individual PDFs to view them.
